WOMEN IN TOURISM (AUSTRALIA)

Sydney

STRATEGY 2023 AND BEYOND

THE BRIEF

Women in Tourism (Australia) (WiT) was established in 2015 by two small business owners. It was established in response to a gap in support for women in tourism sector, particularly at senior (Board) level. WiT had ambitions to grow in terms of what it can achieve for women (and men) in the industry as well as formalising its business structure. At the time of this project approximately 2,000 engaged members (free to join).

The questions to resolve were:

  • to examine the value WiT creates for its members

  • how members could most benefit in the next 2-3 years

  • how can WiT have an impact over the next decade, which defines the legacy?

THE OUTCOME

  • Provided an analysis of the objectives and reasons why members are so engaged, with recommendations for what is important to maintain

  • Provided direction on options for next steps – how WiT can move forward and some options to do so

  • Prepared communication for the Founder to communicate with members. Providing an update on the outcomes of the Strategy and next step

  • Provided options for ongoing support.
